PROPER CARDLOCK PUMP OPERATION/SLOW FLOW

As you well know, when you elect to use our cardlock system for fueling, you are the operator of the equipment. We often get complaints in respect to slow fuel flow at our cardlock sites and most of the time the problem can be fixed in just a few seconds.

Fuel dispensers use turbine style pumps and operate under pressure to dispense the fuel. Older style pumps operated with suction to dispense the fuel. In order to comply with DEQ regulations, turbine style systems are required to have a leak detection system in the line which requires the line to be pressurized before the pump speeds up. If the nozzle is opened before this takes place the pumps will only dispense fuel at a trickle. If this occurs just close the nozzle for about 15 seconds and the pump should then pump at the normal flow rate. If the problem persists then please contact our office.
